The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
